We have worked with RahRah Theatre Company for almost seven years now, having originally contacted them in July 2008 after hearing them perform at Prendergast Ladywell Fields College. We’d heard great things about their Work Experience performance - the WEX Factor - from both students and teachers alike, and were keen to engage them to work with other schools in Lewisham.
We have since booked them to perform the WEX Factor in year after year in Lewisham Schools and a school in Greenwich. This performance is absolutely brilliant, helping the students to prepare for their work experience placements through a fun and varied range of highly interactive and practical tasks. The show is hugely entertaining to watch and, by allowing the students to participate themselves, ensures that they are engaged throughout and that they will remember the vital lessons about how to conduct themselves during their work experience placements. It is relevant, informative and funny, using imaginative techniques to reach the students on their own level.
The success of the WEX factor lead us to further develop our partnership with RahRah. We engaged them to devise and deliver a communication workshop for us, which used drama as the medium through which year 11 students could enhance their key skills. We have run these workshops for two academic years now and they have been well received by the students, who have enjoyed the opportunity to learn valuable skills through a combination of games, performance and role-play.
We were so impressed with RahRah’s energy and creative flair that we also engaged them to devise a brand new enterprise performance for us back in 2010, to be delivered to key stage 4 students across the borough. This has been performed in many schools since, and we’ve had a very positive response from the students, who loved having the chance to learn about enterprise through an interactive and competitive show. In addition to the work they have done with us, RahRah offer a comprehensive range of workshops and performances at very competitive prices and I look forward to continuing to work in partnership with them in the future. I would not hesitate in recommending their services to other organisations and schools.'
